Neighbourhood Life

Neighbourhood Life is our approach to helping ‘more people, become more active, more often’.  We have got a great range of facilities and activities available, so you’re guaranteed to find something that will help you to become more active and adopt a healthier lifestyle.

Below are details of the projects that we currently have running under the Neighbourhood Life Approach.

GP Referral Programme

The GP referral program is a 12 week programme that  accepts participants on a referral basis via their GP or Health care professional.  The programme lasts for 3 months and entitles participants to unlimited use of the gym and swimming pool and free parking.  Participants receive a health assessment and programme at week 1, then regular phone calls with our GP referral qualified instructors to keep in touch and check progress, and a follow up review at week 12.  Spaces on this programme are limited, for more information please visit the GP referal page.

Healthy Life Programme

The Healthy Life program is a 6 month programme that accepts participants via any route of referral including self-referral, with the main qualifying criteria being that they are not currently active.  The programme lasts for 6 monthsand entitles participants to unlimited use of the gym, classes and swimming pool and free parking.  Participants receive a health assessment and programme at week 1, then regular phone calls with our healthy life instructors to keep in touch and check progress, and a follow up review at week 12.  The following 12 weeks are then unsupported by the instructors to allow participants to continue independently with activity.  Spaces on this programme are limited, for more information please submit an enquiry form.

Previous Projects (Not currently available)

Neighbourhoold Life - Health and Wellbeing Pilot

Our Health & Wellbeing programme helped 250 people become more active through a range of activities and sports.

Our 6 month Health & Wellbeing programme:
• Introduced participants to the Sovereign Centre and the wide range of activities available
• Provided participants with a personal Health & Wellbeing coach in the first 3 months
• Helped participants gain an understanding of health and wellbeing through an online wellbeing check; and how it can be improved through physical activity
• Matched participants with activities for at least 30 minutes a week

The programme allowed participants to see a range of health improvements as well as encouraging long term participation in activity.

Neighbourhood Life - Access to Swimming

Our Access to Swimming programme helped 150 people become more active through unlimited access to the swimming pools.

This programme introduced new participants to the Sovereign Centre Pools, providing them with support over the first 12 weeks.

The programme allowed participants to enjoy health improvements both mental and physical as well as encouraging long term participation in swimming.
