Is there a restriction on how many children I can supervise in the pool at once?

Yes the centre operates a pool ratio system for under 8s in the swimming pool:
Children aged 4-7 years must be accompanied by an adult (i.e. over the age of 16 years) on a maximum of a 2:1 ratio. Children under the age of 4 years must be accompanied by an adult on a maximum of a 1:1 ratio.  Family Swim Sessions are available when children under the age of 4 may be accompanied by an adult on a maximum of a 2:1 ratio providing they wear approved buoyancy aids.  Please contact the centre for further information.

Is the centre suitable for access by disabled users?

Yes the centre is fully accessible by disabled users although the studio is not accessible by wheelchair users.

Is there car parking available?

Yes, a large car park is available for up to 300 vehicles, a token must be purchased from reception to exit the car park.

Do I have to be a member to use the leisure facilities?

No, you do not need to be a member to use the Sovereign Centre. Activities are available on a ‘pay as you go’ basis as well as value for money membership packages.

To book for activities, such as group fitness classes and swimming lessons you simply need to become a Booking Member. This can be achieved by contacting reception via the telephone or during your visit to the leisure facility or simply on-line in the 'Registration' page.

Are there lockers available?

Yes, lockers accept £1 coins and are returnable.

Is there somewhere to buy food and drink?

Yes the Sovereign Centre has a café selling hot and cold food, smoothies and a wide range of hot and cold drinks.

Can I buy clothing and equipment at the leisure centre?

Yes, The Sovereign Centre Centre provides a range of products. Whether they are goggles, swim costumes, fun inflatable for the swimming pool; or water bottles and towels.  There is also a range available for you to view on our on-line retail shop available. Are the gym instructors qualified?

Yes, all gym instructors are qualified to a minimum of Level 2 Fitness Instructor.
