Workout Classes

Workout classes are a great way to achieve your health and fitness goals – complement your existing workout programme with a technique class or choose from a selection of classes to help you lose weight, tone up or simply feel great.

The specialist workout studio is home to our team of fitness professionals, delivering courses and classes including RPM, Body Combat, Body Pump and many more, so there is always a class to suit you.

Class Descriptions


Aqua Fit 
Is simply an aerobic workout performed in the water typically using the water as resistance for exercises that normally are done on land.  Water-based exercise trains the entire body, with very little joint strain and is suitable for all types of people, male or female, young or old, small or large, fit or unfit.
 
Junior Gym and Junior Circuits 
A workout for ages 8-15 and 11-15 with our qualified instructors using the gym, studio or circuits equipment. Visit our “children’s activities” page online for full details.
 
Aqua Splash 
Similar to “Aqua Fit” this class uses aqua aerobics to create a full body and cardio work out.  This class takes place in our shallow training pool, so is available to non-swimmers or those unsure of deep water.
 
Legs, Bums & Tums 
A mix of aerobic and conditioning exercises to target these three main areas of the body. This versatile class can be tailored to ability and varies dependant on the instructor.
 
Ashtanga Yoga 
Is a more dynamic intermediate level version of the classic class.  Yoga aims to align the mind and body through a series of postures and focusses on strength, flexibility and meditation.
 
Pilates 
A low impact class which focuses on balance, posture & strength whilst enhancing mental awareness.
 
BODY BALANCE® 
Is the Yoga, Tai Chi, Pilates workout that builds flexibility and strength and leaves you feeling centered and calm.  Using controlled breathing and a carefully structured series of stretches, moves and poses to music to brings the body into a state of harmony and balance.
 
Power Stretch 
A low impact class to improve flexibility and relieve aches and pains. A mix of static and dynamic stretches to challenge the body. All abilities welcome.
 
BODY ATTACK™ 
Is the sports-inspired cardio workout for building strength and stamina. This high-energy interval training class combines athletic and aerobic movements with strength and stabilisation exercises.
 
RPM® 
Our qualified instructor will lead you over the hills and down the valleys in this 45 minute indoor cycling class. This non-impact class is highly motivating with pumping music and will help burn fat, improve stamina and tone up the lower body. This class is a fantastic calorie burner and really hits those problem areas!
 
BODY COMBAT® 
This fiercely energetic program is inspired by martial arts and draws from a wide array of disciplines such as karate, boxing, taekwondo, tai chi and muay thai. You will strike, punch, kick and kata your way through calories to superior cardio fitness.
 
Step Aerobics 
The best way to tone and firm your legs and bum, incorporated into an aerobics routine to create a full body fitness work out.  Burn calories and tone up in a fun and friendly environment.
 
BODY PUMP® 
Is the original barbell class that will sculpt, tone and strengthen your entire body. It is one of the world¹s fastest ways to get in shape as it challenges all of your major muscle groups while you squat, press, lift and curl to inspiring music with motivating instructors.
 
Swiss Ball 
A core conditioning class using swiss balls. Great for overall toning.
 
Circuits 
An excellent way to improve mobility, strength and stamina. The facilities at the Sovereign Centre offer the best opportunity for you to reach your fitness goals and to enjoy the process.
 
WaterWorks 
Is the effective total body workout where you are immersed in a fun environment and can choose your intensity level. WaterWorks provides a new concept 45-minute aqua class to appeal to all shapes and sizes. Our fully trained instructor will ensure that WaterWorks is FUN and WORKS!
Dynamic Yoga 
An intermediate level yoga class, which aims to align the mind and body through a series of postures and focuses on strength, flexibility and meditation techniques.
 
Zumba 
This moving, shaking workout class combines dance moves from Latin American and International music, to create a full workout, which will let you dance your worries away!
 
GRIT Series™ 
Is a High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) workout to add to your life which will take your fitness to the next level! You will be addicted to the results. These HIIT workouts imprrove cardiovascualr fitness while you build strength and lean muscle.
