The Sovereign Centre

ACTIVE

Active sessions are for those looking to use swimming for exercise purposes, or to improve fitness levels. Active sessions permit the use of training aids and equipment for the more serious swimmer.

SOCIAL

Social sessions are for those looking to get enjoyment out of swimming. These sessions enable you to swim with others of similar ability and are a great way to meet like-minded swimmers.

WELLBEING

Wellbeing sessions are for those looking to use swimming to improve overall health, fitness and wellbeing. A great way to exercise, tone and relieve stress.

FAMILY

Family sessions have been specifically designed for those with children.  The Family sessions offer a calm and enjoyable atmosphere for young and old alike - the perfect family day out.

PARTY

Our fun sessions are perfect for children and teenagers, offering a lively, energetic and exciting atmosphere - the perfect pool party!

Swimming Pool

We have 4 fantastic swimming pools with sessions to suit every type of swimmer. The Sovereign Centre is the only public leisure centre in Sussex that has a diving pool!

There are a variety of swimming pools at the Sovereign Centre, make a splash in the Fun Pool with waves and a flume. Or for the keen swimmer there is a 25 metre, 6 lane Gala swimming pool with an extra boom area for swimming lessons.

A warmer training pool is provided for swimming lessons and pool parties, which offers an excellent facility for children and adults who are new to swimming. The Training Pool is open Saturday & Sunday 11:00 – 15:00, however it is available for exclusive hire during these times.  Please call before visiting to check availability.

Whatever your swimming ability, age or fitness level, swimming is one of the best all-round forms of exercise and great fun too!

As well as casual swimming, we offer a wide selection of swimming experiences throughout the week ranging from swimming lessons, aqua aerobics, lane swimming to inflatable fun.

Dive into a summer of activity inspired by Disney·Pixar’s Finding Dory!

This Summer we are working alongside Disney, Change4Life, and the ASA to run interactive Finding Dory inspired swim sessions, co-created by the ASA and Disney.

The whole family are encouraged to swim together and ultimately to have lots of fun in the water as they dive like Dory, splash like sea lions Fluke and Rudder, and hide like Hank in a series of activities based on core swimming skills and Finding Dory story telling.

Sessions will run at The Sovereign Centre and Motcombe Pool and will be bookable online or on the day at reception.  More information on booking will be available shortly.

Sessions run for 5 weeks from the week of 25th July and are available at the following times:

  • The Sovereign Centre - Tuesdays and Thursdays 11:30-12:30
  • Motcombe Pool - Wednesday 11:15-12:15 (the fun session is available from 11:00-12:30 so you are welcome to arrive early and stay on after.)

You could also win a Finding Dory prize bundle when you upload a photo from our Photo Standee via your Instagram account using #JustKeepMoving.

The competition will run for 6 weeks, from 22 July – 4 September. 10 winners will be selected every week, winning a prize bundle of £250 value of Finding Dory products.

Full terms and conditions are available on the Disney website www.disney.co.uk/justkeepmoving
